Happy Halloween!

Well this week was pretty swell we had a good Halloween haha just because we didnt have a pumkin to carve didnt mean we couldnt carve a watermelon. Also this week Elder Alarcon and myself had our first 2 baptisms together. Two twin 9 year olds in our ward. We have been working super hard and we have a few baptisms lined up for next week so I'm pretty pump. Last night was kinda crazy we found this guy who had a devil in his house and he was crying and freaking out he is 40 years old and lives by himself any way he said that while he was sleeping someone was yelling at him and began choking him but there was no one in the house. Long story short we said a prayer in his possessed house it was pretty dang crazy but he wants to go to church this week which is rad. Anyway that was pretty much my haunted house that I got to go in for halloween. Not much else happened this week that I can think of, I havent gotten the package you sent but im sure it will come soon, also I translated your letter you wrote to Miguels Mom haha it was pretty funny. Not much else to report I am doing great and working hard to have success please pray for our area. Also i didnt get the recipe or pics maybe next week I hope.I love you all and hope all is well with sports and just life enjoy the weather you all have because the infierno just hit Paraguay. Elder Burr the simple secret is this  put your trust in the Lord, do your best , then leave the rest to him.

Gustavo

Gustavo
Elder Brown and I before leaving the zone.
"Its raining men!"

Well I pretty much just got molested. Elder Betancor and I went next door to get our hairs cut haha that sounds weird. anyway I went first and he kept calling me mi amor and then after he cut my hair he was like rubbing my head and shampooing my head haha it was the most awkward thing in my entire life I was trying so hard not to laugh dont worryI've got pics of good old Gustavo the perv. trying not to get jealous of Gustavo Tracie. Anywho this week has been freakin awesome!!! We had eight people in church and we are planning on 2 baptisms this week! My comp is the man we are working like crazy andI come home every night dead tired. Life is great and I am loving my mission and everything about it! Anywho this week we had our primary program and I played for it haha it was horrible they dont know how to count so they were a good 2 measures ahead of me throughout the song oh well. Also we found a guy named Nestor who was a missionary and he had done something and got sent home. Anyway he knows english perfectly and I was able to talk to him and resolve his fears of coming back to church. He came and brought his brother sister and best friend who arent members to church haha its so awesome! He's the man though we are going to bring him back into the church for good. But I am slowly forgetting how to speak enlish because when I talked to him I could barely speak. Not much else going on I am doing great and loving life! Hey what part is Camerno in right now in Chile my comp is from the capital. He loves karate but its like break dancing karate its so funny the other night he was trying to teach me. Ya that was a nightmare never again. Also yes motherest I get all your letters and I love getting them. Also I wrote Pearl and Nana the other day. Not much else going on here are a few pics enjoy! Also ask Jenny what the guys name is in her ward that served here I think he was comps with one of the missionaries that lives with me Elder Betancor. Also Elder Timmy as everyone calls him here is from Idaho. Love ya"ll lots, talk to ya next week. Every ones favorite person Elder Burr Para siempre dios este con vos. salmons 37 5

Suns made a block buster trade!

Elder Alarcon from Chile
Out contacting
My Roommates.
Grocery Shopping

Well we had changes and the suns made a huge trade sending the shooting guard from Piribebuy Elder Burr to Yspay where he will open this area with Elder Alarcon from CHILE. Probaby the greatest trade in suns history. Anyways yes I am a gonner from the che piri piri and Elder Rivera is still there with Elder Allred who came with me from the MTC. It was the worst thing having to leave members and my converts. Primitiva bawled her eyes out and ya I had no idea what to say haha I get to go through with her in the temple in April!! I"m so pumped for that. Anywho about the new area. ELder Alarcon and I opened it up and this week we were running around trying to meet new members and we did a million contacts finding new people and stuff. We had our first church meeting and the ward has their new piano player me haha next week I am playing for their primary day that should be good. Also right nowI live with two other missionaries which is pretty fun Elder Betancor from Ecuador and a greenie sraight from the MTC Elder Tiemann haha but ya my comp is the man he loves working out so now I"ve got a work out buddy ha also he is a super hard worker which is the most important thing. We found 2 or 3 families and have returned dates with them so we will see what happens! Anyway santa is sending a package home tomorrow so im not sure when you will get it. Not much else going on I made a cd of all 300 of my pics so I will be sending that so you can watch it on the tv. not much else I love you guys take care and stay beautiful! para siempre dios este con vos elder burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr--

What it is!

What up fam and whoever else might be tuning into the 100th annual emailathon I actually dont know how many its been but 100 works.well cambios changes are tomorrow so we will see if the phoenix suns want to release Elder Burr to the Boston Celtics or if they want to sign him to another 1 month contract. I've got no idea what is going to happen tomorrow but whatever happens I'm going to be happy so its all good. Anyway really nothing else going on we arent having any success what so ever and I"m not surprised we do absolutely nothing. All I can do is be his friend and try and help him out but it doesnt go so great. He does not like to be told what to do so that usually ends up in a nice long arguement which is always fun. He's a good guy he just needs to figure out why he is here. If you are curious when he leaves back to El Salvador, it will be 120 days tomorrow. Don't worry he lets me know everyday. Anyway I can really think of much else. I love it out here though its crazy how the Lord works placing you in sittuations and different places to talk to certain people and certain times. I've almost got this sweet Christmas package finish I"ve got a surprise for each marriage couple in the fam haha. Anywho I'm going to try and send pics but most likely it wont work because this guy next to me is like screaming at someone on the computer camera things so its tying up the line. Anyway love you all one love! Our super market is the size of Circle K with half as many things it sucks but piribebuy is a poor little city gotta love it. peace! elder burro para siempre dios este con vos

Paraguay

Paraguay the land where knowing one word in english means you can speak english. Well this week was pretty crazy we went to the temple which was awesome! It's tiny but incredible inside! Also we had conference this week did you know that Pres. Monson and all the other men know spanish? Actually they had people speaking in Spanish. Pres Monson sounded like he was about 120 years old and Elder Bednar sounded like he was 14 years old. Pretty funny haha but the tab choir was incredible they played that one song you used to play all the time on the organ haha I almost started singing a loud because I was the only American. also the memories of conference I will never forget haha get ready they are pretty funny . Throwing pillows at mom, mom sitting 2 ft from the tv when the nephews and nieces came because she couldnt hear haha and me falling asleep and Tracie and mom waking me up every 2 sec. Hope you know I was awake for every one of them but we didnt get to watch the Priesthood session which was a bummer. Also you know when the prophet always says drive safely home. We also crashed into a car on the colectivo because it was parked in the middle of the rode with out lights one of our members almost broke her ankle it was insane! Only in Paraguy I guess. This week has been another tough one we still arent doing much and still arent seeing success because we do nothing. We have changes next week but I dont wanna get my hopes up so what ever happens happens. This week I worked on my Christlike attribute of patience and boy was it tested. Elder Rivera is a good guy im just trying to be friends with him. The other day I taught him thats what she said hahahaha probably one of the funniest things in my life. He has no idea how it works but thats alright. Anyway I'm getting a little package to send home . Do you want me to send you the table clothe? I'm scared it will get lost or something but just let me know what you want me to do. Also I'm making a disc of all my pics to send home paraguay is being lame and wont let me send pics today. Well gotta bounce love you guys one love. ps God gave us memories so that we might have June roses in the December of our lives. That quote is pretty tight haha Love ya´ll toodles. Elder Bdizzle

Goodness, Badnews!

Well I've got good news and bad news bad news is Elder Rvera has to give Pres. Wade his dvd player so no more movie nights inPiribebuy sorry guys.Good news Elder Rivera still has his ipod so you can all rock out to 50 cent no worries. Well this week has been another adventure we had inverviews and I was planning on tellingPres. Wade all about the elc. stuff but my zone leader beat me to it. It was super good talking to President Wade hes the man he told me that he had alot of latin coms in Columbia and that they acted like they were 13 and all you can do is love them and be a good example to them. It's super hard but I am doing my best and I feel that we are some what of friends now last pday we got to play real football and we ate a bunch of meat which was super good however later that nightI threw it all up,everyone can catch my drift on that one. Anyway I woke up the sleeping beast Elder Rivera bad idea . He wasnt to happy but I asked him if he would give me a blessing and it was one of the most amazing blessings I"d ever recieved he is a good guy hes just had alot of comps that let him do what he wants and he needs to be bossed around a little bit. Not much else to exciting we should have had another baptism with a man name marino but he decided not to show up so that was a disappointment. Also I found about the whole calling for chrstmas they give us a paper with a number to call and you guys call me but ya i wont get that for a few months. Also im going to the temple tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! also most likely ill be listening to conference in only spanish haha itll be alright though. PS thank you for sending all the dearelder.com I know you always say you are repeating yourself but i dont care its just nice to get a letter and they always come when I am most down so thank you it means alot. Aso I can buy the table cloth thing dont worry about it its beigh also not sure how to spell that. also saturday we had service and our Pres. said that everyone around the world was doing service so i wanted to know if you guys did it to. well not much else going on also to ry jen and sarah thank you for the emails today has been a tough day and it was good hearing from you guys also i cant freakin believe Lyvi is standing haha crazy! peace everybody one love. Elder Burr para siempre dios este con vos.

ljksdv jdv

By this title for this email that is how I feel. This week has been an absolute nightmare. our numbers for this week have been pathetic. This week we did about a days work for a full week!!! We get nothing done and we should have had a baptism with Alipio the guy that prayed for two messenger's to visit him when me and Brown were together I don't blame him for not wanting to be baptized we never visit him because Elder Rivera doesn't want to. Elder Rivera is pissed than ever at me and I have no idea, he just usually decides to be mad at me randomly and I usually just toon him out and listen to a different station 94.5.In other news if no one has seen batman xmen pursuit of happiness or saw 3 come on over to our house Elder Rivera will be up watching movies until 12 30 while I study my scriptures because I am scared he is going to leave our house. Right now he is using a different computer but we are supposed to watch each other to make sure we aren't on a different site. Most likey he is looking at play stations and hes saving up his money to buy one here. We have interviews with Pres. Wade Thurs so I'm pretty excited for that. Well other than that this week we killed and ate a rabbit it was really good haha also Miguel the guy Brown and I baptized is the new secretary and Gospel doctrine teacher!! How awesome is that! He recieved melchezdek priesthood Sunday as well I'm so dang happy for him he's the man! Also friday at 2 in the morning we got a call from one of our members that his wife was having her baby and he wanted us to bring milk so at 2 in the morning we walked forever to the hospital and brought the milk. She had a little boy that makes 3 more crazy kids. Other that that not to much happened this week it sure has been a good one! During the week I thought of two funny stories thatI remembered haha remember when Jared hit Karen in the head with my lacrosse ball and then after he bought her jeans haha sorry Karen it wasnt funny. All is well I love you guys and hope everything is going great dont worry about me ill be fine.PS Miguels mom is making your table clothe thing croching it I hope thats what you wanted its so pretty also I have a little book of pictures of everyone in the fam that the members and other people like to look at and they say everyone is beautiful haha you are all beautiful. also everyone wants to know if Courtney and I are twins haha.Para siempre dios este con vos!

Elder Riveras and Elder Burr
in front of the Paraguay Temple
Elder Burr riding "Lady Action!"

What up fam greetings from Paraguay the land of no rules. How is everyone doing? I am doing great the comp is still a little grumpy especially right now because he wants to use computers together but we aren't allowed so hes a little mad. You'd think he'd know the rules after being out 1 year and 7 months. He lets me know everyday about how long I have before I go home its very uplifting. Whatever though its cool I am doing great so don't worry about anything I am just trying to be a good example. I talked with Pres Wade at zone conference and he said he put me with him for a reason I guess we will find out what that is later in life? About the conference talks just magazines are great because I don't have anything to listen to , magazines are great. Also for Christmas and everything just put money in my account so I can buy you guys stuff. This week was one of the funniest in my mission we took bikes all the way out to one of our areas Cordillera 2 hour bike ride. We are supposed to have another group of missionaries out here but its just us two. Anyway my tire ended up popping and Elder Riveras chain snapped and the member we went with rode a pink bike that said lady action hahaha it ended up being the best one! He would fly by me and say lady action haha good times. Also this week I bought my temple clothes we are going the end of this month I'm so excited! Oh ya and this week we are buying a rabbit from one of our members this next week and going to eat it with another family in our ward haha the rabbit is huge! Also if you can send me a calender for Christmas that would be great because I dont have one. A crappy one is fine. Also today I bought a fanny pack haha yes that's right I'm bringing back the 90s its the new style in Paraguay. I put my camera in it and then put my shirt over it they say it is the most safe thing to do. Well gotta run I'm going to try and send a few pics. Love you all! Keep smiling because that's all I can do! Para siempre dios este con vos! Elder Big Burr

Yes, I got a new Comp!

Well this week lets just say has been a living nightmare. we had changes and I am still in Piribebuy but ElderBrown is now in Capiatan as a district leader. My new comp is Elder Riveras from El Salavador. He doesnt speak any english and doesnt want to learnLets just say he's not the most obedient and I feel likeI am a babysitter and the senior comp. Hobbies of Elder Rivera? Sitting outside on our porch in his garments during the day listening to his mp3 (50 cent) in front of everyone that walks by, sleeping for 3 hours after church while I study also sleeping in an extra hour, and taking food breaks about every 20 min. fun week right? Not! Don't get me wrong he knows how to teach and he is a super funny guy but more then 95% of the time I want to...... (you can fill in the blank of cruel things I would like to do) anyway other than that I am doing great just trying to stay positive and work likeIalways do and be a good example for him as much as I can.The language with him isnt a problem just babysitting. What can you do?Anyway there is a lady in our ward that makes those lace things for tables or whatever what color? And how big do you want it to be? how many?Let me know next monday so I can tell her. Sounds like everything back at home is good and everyone is doing great.Just about every utard knows BYU won pure luck haha. We had testimony meeting this Sunday which was pretty good and always funny haha Talk to you next week, Love you all Elder Burr

Che piri piri piri che piribebuy

What up kids! well today or tomorrow we find out about changes if i stay in the che town with another comp or if i leave. i think i am staying and going to get a new comp but we shall see. sounds like everything back at home is all swell. i got the package with that camera usb thing right after i emailed you guys thank you for all the stuff elder brown tried out the usb thing and it worked perfect so thank you so much for that! that package sent super fast! also next time you send a package try and throw like a picture of Christ or the virgin on there so nobody messes with it. funny story haha we went over to Cesar's house the other day and we were talking about education and how he will find a wife and have kids later on in life and he told us that he doesnt want a wife or kids because he wants to be able to pick any hamburger he wants and if he has a wife and kids he cant hahaha hes a pretty funny kid he was sporting this sweet lime green suit yesterday i have no idea where he got it but he blended well with everyone else in our barrio. also the man Miguel that we baptized before Cesar got called to be gospel doctrine teacher how crazy is that! he taught for the first time yesterday and has been a member about 3 weeks. he taught the most powerful lesson and it seemed like he had been a member for years! he has about 11 brothers and sisters none are members and they are all super catholic. our branch president said the next area that gets opened up he wants to put him as president there. hes pretty much the man. not much else going on here at least i cant think of anything im in piribebuy right now so we will see if the computers will let me send pics or not. gotta love these comptuers not. ps tell ben to email me. i love you all and hope everyone is doing great keep in touch thank you for all the support!love ya¨ll duces! elder burro para siempre dios este con vos

Rohayhu

Cesar's baptism

Me rocking out on the piano at ward night!

well ya gotta love writing bit long paragraphs and then having them disappear thats always fun. anyway changes are next week and i have a feeling elder brown is gone because he has 7 months in the che piribebuy. so that means ill be taking command ha. a little about cesar. his mom gives him 10 mil which is about 2 dollars u.s to last him for about 4 days. he doesnt go to school because he doesnt want to and all he does is watches tv and eats imponadas and cocacola ask rush what that is ha. his mom is a... let me think of a kind but harsh word shes more of a bruja. hes a good kid though. also this week while i was finishing up reading in the book of mormon and just about to say my prayers before i went to bed someone pounds on our door. i almost pee-d my pants. elder brown was out like a light so i grabbed our machety and opened the door to find a drunk looking for a girl named daisy. i almost chopped his head off. there are soooooo many drunks here its ridiculous i have no idea where they get the money because they dont work and they live in card board boxes. also this past week was childrens day so happy childrens day children. alos i cant remember if i said happy bday to you dad but i thought i did sorry im a terrible son if not happy birthday. onbe more story because my time is just about up. elder brown got brownies from his mom and i told him i knew how to make them so i made them and ended up burming the living day lights out of them i thoughjt i was pretty funny but i was the only one laughing. he forgave me after a few days ha just kidding he laughed to also his name is chase brown not jeff different missionary. the whole camera stuff dont worry about iv got two chips and piribebuy is a pretty safe town just alot of drunks. hope all is well im going to try and send pics for the millionth time. love you all! para siempre dios este con vos elder burr

Elder "Burro"

-what up!! Hows everyone doing? I am doing great and so is Piribebuy! First
things first this is for Courtney and her roll in with the police hahaha
what were you thinking haha i was Laughing so hard when i read about what
happened looks like you never learned your lesson when you were younger haha
i have probably heard that song ryan was singing because all they play here
is sean paul pitbull Daddy yankee and adventura. That was such a funny story
though almost as funny as when you fell in the kitchen haha ok enough
ragging on Courtney. This week as pretty well we've been teaching a man named
santiago who has been talking with the missionaries for 3 years now and no
one has been able to get him baptized. This week we had him Ready and he
wanted to and ya he decided not to show up to the church. Funny thing is hes
not the first that has done that we had a 14 year old girl and her brother
do the same so that as a bummer but it will all work out ive got the faith to
move a mountain. This past Thursday was friendo day by the way so happy late
friendo day everyone. For some reason they have like a million holidays here
like water day? The man miguel who baptized last week is the coolest kid by
the way i didnt have much time to email about him but this past week he has
been going around with us to share his testimony to our investigators. I
have never felt the spirit so strong before he is on fire right now. He told
us he really wants to serve a mission hes 23 right now. Sorry if there are
random words that i spelt this computer sometimes decides to just through in
guarni when it wants. Also the pictures i send you will you save them because
i have no idea when ill ever have time to develope them or ever find a
place to develope them because there is nothing here! The other week we had my
second zone conference and the assistance called elder brown and i to see if
i would play a special number. You ill never guess what song i played haha
yep you guessed it my farewell song, sister wade started crying after and
she told me to tell you thank you so much for sending that music to me to
play she said you were inspired. Also another quick funny thing is this
morning i was cleaning up around the house and i was putting away my baptism
pants and on the tag you had written hi jacob haha it made me laugh and made
me pretty happy. Well i gotta run there is never time! I love you all here is
pic or two. Also the people here still think it is hilarious to call me
elder burro and the food is either really good or nasty and the spanish is
going well but the guarni is mas o menos para siempre dios este con vos
Elder burro

What up Children

what up! well sorry about last week and the type writer problems. the winds
95 are doing pretty well today i think ill be able to send a few pics.
sounds like everything is going well in good old az and everyone sounds like
they are doing great. thats so crazy ryan is in the bishopric looks like no
more sunday football games with shawn hahah sorry i had to say it you know
im just messing with you ryan. anywho dont worry about emailing me alot or
whatever just if anyone sends me something send it in one email because if i
get to many it like gets clogged and ya. anyway my schedule goes like this
wake up at 630 work out until 715ish get dressed 1 hour personal 1 hour comp
study and 1 hour language and at 11 until 930 working and 1030 sleep. yes yes
i know it all sounds so exciting but i love it. i use the sleeping bag every
night it rained like crazy today so its cold but its been pretty hot lately.
about the camera stuff. iv got two memory cards and im going to fill them
both up and develop them when i get home from the mission.today was a
pretty good week though we had a baptism sunday his name is cesar a 13 year
old boy who lives by himself yes i said by himself his mom comes once a week
from asuncion to drop off money for 10 min and then just leaves. its
super sad but he is the happiest kid. he loves the missionaries and he wants
to go on a mission. elder brown and i were talking and we could totally see
him as a seventy speaking in conference he will be an awesome member now and
in the future. not much else going on here i hope everyone is doing great i
love you all im going to try and send a few pics hopefully it works. also
tell trace the email i sent her last week sent back to me but i forwarded it
again so hopefully she got it. peace! elder burr para siempre dios este con
vos. ps i pulled out like 50 dollars to buy alligator skin church shoes haha

What up fam! Well sounds like you all had a good time at the cabin i hope Jared enjoyed winning because when i get back i will be taking the trophy every year haha. Thank you for all the pictures unfortunately i have no time to open any of them and look at them because the computers here take about 3 min to open each one and i only have an hour to read every ones emails and write you and pres wade so please don't send pics just send them in the mail or something because i have no time on here and also don't send multiple emails unless its an emergency, because it also takes forever to open emails and ya that's just more time. Its pretty frustrating because i hating using computers and it doesn't helped when you use windows 95 computers in Paraguay . you think I'm joking nut I'm not. Also when you send a letter in the mail put it in an envelope, i got a letter from you today and it was ripped in half and the other peace is probable in Argentina or something but ya use envelopes and also I'm not allowed to talked back and forth through email and even if i wanted to you would never get it in time. Sorry about all this computer junk i hate it but i am in Paraguay what can you do. For pday today we went to the confederation of futbol i guess there are only 2 or 3 in the World it just has a bunch of World tropeƩis and staff it was pretty insane! My favorite part was seeing carpet for the first time in a while i cant wait to get home and be able to walk bare foot not with sandals, anyway everything is going great i miss you all a bunch and hope everyone is doing great again i don't have much time like usual I'm sorry next week i will try and find more time this mission is insane there is never anytime and when i say that I'm not exaggerating we really have no time at all. Ill try and said a few pictures i love you all elder burr para siempre dios este con vos! Never mind good old Paraguay wont let me send pictures today and its slower than ever at sending staff next week we are going to try a different place. One more thing when you email me please do it before Monday morning it has to relieve like all the email in one day its a joke. I love you all lata!

What up Yankee!

Our dresser didn't fit through the front door, so this was our second option...On P-Day we had a Zone activity, hiking a huge mountain in Tobati
Baptism the week of July 20th in Piribebuy.
Sorry its a little late don't everyone all freak out at once . we had a zone activity today in tobati where we went hiking haha this was no wind caves these sucks are huge mountains with no trails you just have to work your way through all the brush and vines and every other plant and thing that grows here. It was pretty dang scary we pretty much rocked climbed the whole thing. But ya thats why I'm a little late emailing because we got back super late but ya any who. Hows everyone doing? Great i hope. Well like ty and his haircut i got the same haha its so much easier with a buzz. Elder brown called me and my comp elder brown and he told me to email you and say thank you for emailing him haha he says your a sweet heart haha. To answer your question last week if that picture of the church was catholic it is and it is huge!! I got a quick joke that the people here think is so funny haha they say que paso george bush? Obama. Translation: what happened to bush? Obama which in guarni means left haha ya its really not funny but ya they think it is. Anyway this week has been insane with rain and coldness. It rained the other night for ever and i didn't have my umbrella because i was teaching two little boys the game of baseball with rocks and my unbrella and ya it broke but it was worth it because i don't have to play soccer with them anymore just baseball! This week i have given quite a few blessings because the flew is getting worse and worse especially the little kids which is super sad to see please pray for them. This week we finally moved into our new house which is pretty cool but it has no heater and you can see your breath when you breath it is so cold. Elder brown laughed when he saw my sleeping bag before but who's laughing now not me because i am nice and warm and sleep like a baby . we had to move all our stuff upstairs above our old house which included two beds a fridge and two huge dressers that didn't fit through the door so you will see a picture how we got them in our new house haha ill try and take some pictures of it. Any who i wish i could write more but we are so behind on everything i love you all and everyone be happy because you live in the u.s and you don't know what you've all got until you dont have it anymore! Ps i got the package today and i almost started crying when i got the Gatorade! Thanks for not sending it in a bottle i might have thrown it. Just kidding. Love you all peace! Elder burr pss i always get called a yankee so that's why i said that in my header of the email.

He was happy to find a little piece of home
MVP of the Paraguaian soccer team
whatup!! yes its me your favorite missionary. we had changes today and i aint goin no where!! im pretty happy haha i love my area and comp . also i dont live in asuncion i live in piribebuy hahaha ive wanted to tell you that for a while asuncion is about 3 hours away from me. and asuncion is like new york compared to piribebuy which is pretty much compared to as a dumpster. you laugh but im not joking peoples houses hear are made out of trash usually its pretty sad. we had the expo last week and it was the coolest thing ever haha i ate burger king!!! it tasted incredible i guess bk here is an amazing place and super fancy its like outback in the u.s haha the people get all dressed up. i saw my old comp there from the mtc haha elder lisonbee hes a tight kid he said he loves it so that makes two of us. also the food here is still pretty crappy what can ya do. i would like some of that food you used to make at home haha remember when i would call it dog food haha i think iv eating dog here at least once. my comp elder brown is from sacremento cali he has 1 brother 3 sisters and his dad is a stake pres. hes been out for a little over a year. hes way cool so im glad i started out with him. the other day for ward night we played ping pong haha and i taught the priest how to play around the world ping pong and while we were playing i tripped and fell and all the members laughed haha it was a good time not. the peolpe here still talk about michael jackson and said he was murdered? let me know if this is true the peolple make up so much stuff haha also we havent moved into our new house yet, i cant wait to not have to use our bathroom that is the size of my closet at home. i dont really need anything from home i have just about everything and i bought an unbrella it was cheap so im good. also we get 8 g or mil a month which is plenty of money to have because there just isnt much to buy here in piri because its so poor. if you want could you send my black quicksilver jacket when you can. not much else going on here i love youy guys and hope all is well here are a few pics. one love! para siempre dios este con vos! elder jj burr
I knew everyone back home would be so impressed!
One of our investagators all dressed up in her
mink ready for church
One of the many Catholic churches in Paraguay

What up family! And everyone else that receives these great letters from the greatest place on earth! Sorry about resending the emails i am a little blonde when it comes to the type writer out here in paraguay. Im glad court and ryan enjoyed the Picture of my girl renildia and her mink coat haha she is the funniest old lady. When you say a prayer she says it back to you haha.it was awesome hearing from everyone that made me way happy. Its super hard to mail everyone because i can only email for an hour. I will write everyone back that emailed you should probably get those by next year some time. Anywho it is so cold here and for some reason it is nice and hot here and we leave our house and it just starts raining like crazy! Also this computer is straight crap so if it says different words just try and understand what i am saying because ya its paraguayin but its cool. I am emailing super early right now because in a few hours were going to the expo!! Whoo its pretty much the state fair haha its going to be a good time. I guess we have to wear masks because the flu is getting really bad down here and people are dying and for some reason when someone dies everyone goes and hangs out at the persons house each day for a month and just stares at like a picture of christ. I call them sit and stares so when we contact and no one is home we just decide they are out drunk or at a sit and stare. That story about brother andes made me laugh about giving up soda haha the people down here are going crazy because they like saw this dumb comercial about how if you find so many of these soda caps you will get all this Money so the people always tell me to drink more soda haha they get upset when i tell them i dont drink soda its pretty funny. The other day i cut this big old tree down with a mashety or however you spell it. Actually this guy named miguel did but i finished it off with a good yell of timber and then i pushed it down and took out their clothes line on accident haha the other night our lights and our water went out which sucked pretty bad and our house like flooded. We move into the house above us this week. Also the man alimpio who said he prayed for two messengers is getting baptized this Sunday. We have two other men lined up but they both are having alot of doubts so its hard but they hopefully will come through. The other day one of the members was watching survivor man haha i was so excited but then we had to leave and i had seen that episode anyway haha also i heard the song i saw the sign which was pretty random. How is everything back at home? Tell justin craig hensly is probably his best bet for an attorney. I told you one day we´d look back on that and laugh haha at least i think you guys are laughing haha. Not much else going on here i love it but at the same time i get really homesick i am doing better though. I am already coming up on my first change and im hoping i dont get changed or get a different comp but i have a feeling i will because he has been here almost 6 months. We do alot of walking here alimpio lives about a half hour bus ride from us and we had to walk a few hours home from his house the other day. All of the hard times and pain are so worth it though. About the whole food thing i would love to say i know what i am eating but i have no idea its usually pretty gross and when we go out to this more poor area they feed us like bloody soup with just bits of fat its pretty nasty but i just eat it. The other day there was a snake at a members house and we killed it with a mashety haha it was pretty cool they kept calling the snake satanas haha here are a few pictures i love you all and miss you all! Deuces! Love elder Jacob julious burr

Hey sorry about yesterday. we didnt have pday because the leaders were having
a huge meeting in asuncion so we had pday today but next week it will be
monday like usual. congrats big ry dog on being baptized!! thats so cool!
i got big T´s email today and i laughed so hard about the purple
bike and helmet hahaha i wish i had a bike we either grab rides with random
trucks or motos or buses. we are supposed to have two other missionaries here
but its just me and elder brown so we walk everywhere. sorry if i dont space
all my words this key board is very paraguayin. yesterday i was bummed about
not having pday but we took a bus out to this place called corillera which
was super poor. there are some members out there who we visited and we were
walking down this hill and we saw a man and decided to go talk to him. we
clapped and he told us to come in. we were talking with him and he said that
he had talked to missionaries before and he had the first lesson restoration
pamphlet not sure how to spell that. anyways we were talking to him and he
told us that the night befopre he prayed that 1 or 2 messengers of god would
come to his house and bring him unto christ. we both just stared at him and
were like are you serious. he told us he works every single day but friday
and we asked if we could teach him this thursday in the afternoon jueves
tardes. he told us he had work but that he didnt care and that he would
rather come unto christ than have money and that money was nothing compared
to that. we got the pamphlet from him and we were about to write down jueves
tardes on the pamphlet when we realized it had already been written from
the missionaries a year ago. it was insane the lord already knew this was all
going to happen and it was random how we didnt have pday and he has already
been to church twice before. we taught him about baptism and he asked if he
went to church on sunday if he could be baptized for this sunday!! he is
the coolest guy his name is olimpio! the people have to go to church atleast
3 times before they are baptized. later that night we met a sixteen year old
kid named ramon who is extremely interested in the church and he just kept
asking us question after question and asked us if he could go to church and
have a book or mormon it was so cool! it has been the best day out in the
mission so far!! it finally stopped raining but the rain went on for about 4
days it was insane all my stuff was soaked and muddy but all my stuff is
holding up pretty well. our shower almost broke the other day and we almost
didnt have our some what warm water if it goes out you are stuck with cold
water its pretty much this like electric contraption with amillion wires. we
were teaching a lesson the other day and this little girl called me feo haha
ugly. and then the next house we went to this old lady kept saying i was
beautiful in guarni and kept staring at me hahah we had our first zone
conference the other day which was pretty fun. president wade and his wife
were there also did i tell you elder brown from the mtc who talked to you at
the airport is in my zone here. he says hi mama burr haha. after that we
went to bk! haha they have one here but its disgusting iwaspretty bummed but
they have frosted flakes here so when we go grocerey shopping i always grab
some. that is insane about all the stuff with the suns i swear they have no
idea what they are doing stephon curry is terrible he looks like he is 10
years old. all of the people here keep asking if we aresad about michael
jackson because i guess he died or something haha is that true. also its so
funny whenever a plane or helicopter flies over the city the people like run
inside because they think its like world war 3 they dont ever see planes or
anything. elder brown and i usually make explosion noises and gun shot
noises haha today on the bus going itagua for zone meeting i sat in the
front of the bus and my comp was in the back because those were the only
seats left on the bus but i talked to this guy in spanish by myself for
about an hour and a half. i taught him the whole first lesson and invited
him to chrch haha it was crzy i was able to speak and understand everything
he said! it was an awesome experienece. when we got off the bus elder brown
was like holy cow you talked to that guy forever what happened!!! haha the
other day we visited a less active and i gave him one of my long sleeve
church shirts because he had nothing for church. i have never seen someone
so happy in my life haha i always teach his little girls the abc and elglish
words and phrases also i taught them sike! i say high five and then pull it
away and say sike haha they try and do it and they say blahh haha its pretty
funny. this last week i was sick just about the whole week with a soar throat
which sucked but i am doing alot better now! we went to visit this
member named renildia who is a member and she was smoking and we said renildia
were you smoking and she said well ya but not alot haha whoever taught this
lady i guess forgot the word of wisdom but we are working with her. she gave
my comp a paraguayin kiss on the cheek hahaha i stuck my hand out and said
bye renildia no more smoking haha. oh ya haha i saw simpsons the other day
here and the voices sound terrible haha also the people love the song sweet
child of mine guns and roses haha. not much else to say i love you all i
hope everyone is doing great send me emails to ty its hard writing alot
because we dont have much time. again i love you all!! para siempre dios
este con vos! if we fail we fail with glory god speed the right.

What up! I am finally in Paraguay! The flight was so ridiculously long but
it was worth it. we had to where like masks and stuff when we came off the
Argentina plane and be checked for any illnesses. we got to the airport and
we were welcomed by our President and sister wade of the mission. they are
such cool people! we then went to there house and ate lunch and kinda had a
few meetings. we then went a few streets over to the mission office where we
slept for the night . After that we woke up the next morning and met our
trainers/companions. my new comp or padre is Elder Brown from Sacremento
California. hes been out for 1 year and he said its scary how fast it goes.
he speaks spanish extremely well and knows quite a bit of guarani. we arrive
at our house in beautiful piribebuy! 90% of the people speak guarani. they
think its so funny when the ask me if i speak spanish and i say a little and
the n they say what about guarani? they also think it is hilarious when i
say me name is elder burr and they ask if i am related to president bush and
also if i am from Springfeild on the simpsons because of Mr Burns on
simpsons. most of the little kids now call me bart simpson. anywho we got to
our house and took me suit off and we went right out into the real world and
started teaching people it was crazy! they speak so fast and they throw
guarni with it. the usually say stuff to me and i just smile for all i know
they could be saying someone died and i just say QUE BUENO! we walk easily
quite a few miles a day uphill and the roads are either dirt sand mud or
jagged stones so it kills your feet. the people are so nice you tell them
who you are and the are more than happy to listen to what you say and except
reading and going to church and praying , however they usually never keep
their commitments so its frustrating. its funny everyone one has fences in
front of their houses and so you dont know but clap hahah i thought that was
the funniest thing in the world. they come outside and tell you to come in
and invite you to drink some terere which is this nasty hay drink with
either cold or hot water and whenever people come over they pass it around
and everyone sucks all over the medal straw haha were not allowed to drink
it, thats to bad not! anyway our pday is on mondays and this is around the
time i email. i exchanged my u.s cash for guarni, its way confusing. its
funny every expensive store you walk in there is a guard with a shotgun
haha. oh ya so our bathroom is pretty much crap. to work the sink you have
to turn on the shower. to work the toilet you ask? yep you have to turn on
the shower. there is this like lamp string you use to flush the toilet its
crazy. the houses and people here are so poor it just doesnt evern seem
real. 95% of the houses in piribebuy are made of mud and brick with a medal
roof. everyone is pretty much losing their teeth and hasnt showered for what
smells like months and its funny because they wear english shirts and i ask
what it means and they just make stuff up haha. the other day we went to go
buy empanadas, chipa, bollos and all of a sudden this car comes around the
corner with his music on listening to J-lo "you must not know about me" i
was laughing so hard haha and also i saw a
TGIF in Asuncion!! it was insane! some other songs i have heard here
is kelly clarkson, 50 cent in da club, and Nelly grills hahaha they are a
little behind in music. also Guns N roses sweet child o mine ha. the
bus´here are so insane they just cram as many people as they can in there
also i get trashed in soccer we had ward night on thursday and i got showed
up by some 8 year old, he went right through my legs and scored. also we
teach english at ward night haha its so funny you point at the and say stuff
like YOU HAVE AN ORANGE SHIRT! and they think you said something mean so
everyone starts laughing even though they have no idea what you said but
then you write what you said on the chalk board in spanish and they all
laugh and say ohhhh. haha its pretty funny. they also love to hear me play
the piano, one of the women in our ward wanted me to play titanic haha i
just played the right hand and she loved it haha at church i play the piano
for sacrement and its funny because elder brown and i have to sing really
loud because if we dont it sounds like they are singing something way
different! we had our first baptism by the way ! her name is primative she
is this 40 year old lady who has been taught for years about the gospel but
has never wanted to get baptized but elder brown and i shared a scripture
and our testimony and started crying and said she wanted to be baptized it
was crazy but so so cool she has the strongest testimony!! Elder brown
baptized her and i shared my testimony at the meeting we have two more
baptisms this week, miguel and roman i am supposed to baptise both haha im
so excited!! also when we go teach people we always start out with a song
just elder brown and i they love to hear us sing haha and there is a member
name inocensio who loves us and he tells his wife he is going to work but
ends up falling us around everywhere haha i think he makes and sells frames
or something he brings his little boy along with us cooca. we call him
cooca roacha haha anyway he asked if i had a girlfriend and i said yes her
name is tracie. crazy? no tracie, crazy? haha i have no idea how he got that
its kinda like bush and mr burns and my name. anywho not much else going on
here its super cold at night when we are out walking and the stars here are
soo bright! i hope all is well i miss you all every morning i was getting
home sick but i am doing alot better its just hard to work here when you
cant understand what people are saying. let me know how everythings going.
Tracie i wrote you a letter and its on the way to the u.s. i can only email
close family which sucks but i will be blessed for being obedient ha. our
